Hello Nail Junkies,
So i purchased my Julep Maven Introductory Box during the penny deal they had right before new years. I also wanted to let you guys know that i just found out the penny deal is back !! (Please Use Code: "NewYear2012") for a penny box!
Just incase you guys are unaware of what julep maven is.. it is a subscription box.. for 19.99 monthly you get a box shipped to your house worth of 50-80$ worth of products to try out and test. They also preview you the box for the month and let you decide whether you want to purchase it or not.. if you are not interested in that month's box you can just skip that month =).. very simple.
Now all you have to do is take the quiz and find out what type of maven you are.. if you do not like the end result.. there will be a link letting you look at the other introductory boxes to choose from! every box is different ! if you have been interested in trying julep polishes this is a great time to try it out! dont forget to use the Promo Code: "NewYear2012" at checkout. http://www.julep.com
Anyhow this post is going to be picture heavy, since i took so many pictures trying to show you guys as much detail as possible!
So in my bag i received
Came in a red box through USPS =)
I am Classic with a Twist... what are you?!
Basically they include a introductory card letting you know what products you've received in your bag as well as a welcoming letter and another letter telling you what being a Julep Maven is all about.
I like how it comes in a bag within a box... lol.. i can always reuse the bag and the box !! =)
They bubble wrap the nail polishes. My nail polishes were actually outside of the bubble wrap, i guess they fell out during their transit. I am very glad that they were not broken because i know that some people did receive broken polishes and had to get them replaced.
" 'Taylor is "somewhere between periwinkle and denim funky, but not too flashy' "
Maya is like a "Peachy pink seashell, like a shimmering pearl"
I made some swatches of the nail polishes on my nail wheel =)

In order to see some real results i will have to continuously use this product.
For a first impression i really like it. I like that it makes my hands feel super smooth but it does not stay smooth for a long time. I guess its like any lotion when you apply it. I also did not notice any brightening or diminishing fine lines on my hand.. but i guess results might show up later if i continue to use it. The consistency is very light and a little bit does go a long way. I definitely love that they sent me a big bottle of the product to really test it and decide later on whether or not i will be purchasing it.
They only sent me a small sample of their scrub. I actually really like this scrub i wish they would have sent a bigger version of this over the brightener. The beads in this scrub are a little harsh for my hands. Other than the light harshness, my hands were noticeably softer after rinsing off the scrub. However, i thought my hands looked the same not any younger. I do like the smell though, very fresh!.. i love products that smell nice, it just makes me want to use it more! lol
Over all I enjoyed my box for this month!.. I mean i cant really complain i did only get it for a penny!! i still cannot believe the deal i got on it! Will i be continuing my subscription with Julep Maven? I have decided that i will try it for a month or two to see how the other boxes go. I mean 20$ a month is pretty steep for me as a student in college, that does not receive any form of financial aid or gov't money. With my subscriptions already to birchbox and myglam.. adding another 20$ for the month leaves me at a choice i do not want to make. I will have to fork over 40$ a month for a month or so and decide which boxes i really want to continue with. Since i have only received 1 box from each company except myglam.. this will take me a couple of months to come to a decision. So far i really like Julep Maven.. and i loove nail polish... i can really do without the lotions.. but we will see.. till next time.. This Maven is heading to bed!
