Blink Brow Mousse & Shadow Primer Review, Application, Swatches & Photos

I am back with another review =).. If you remember earlier i made a post about my winnings from blinc's weekly trivia contest.. I also gave details on how you can enter yourself for a chance to win their products.  You can check out the post here.

I won the previous items:
  • blink eyebrow mousse in light brunette
  • blink eye shadow primer in light tone
*Please read on for a more detailed review and pictures!

Yellow bubble envelope packaging.. it was really quick.. it took about 3-4 days.  I love the packaging of the products.. they are in these little aluminum/tin tubes.  I will be keeping the packaging.. I will eventually find some use for them.

The actual products are in a silver tube packaging.. and are wand based =)

Eyeshadow Primer in Light Tone

Let me start by my eyelids are not greasy so they rarely ever crease without primer.

"Once applied, blinc eye shadow primer conceals and fills existing fine lines, providing a smooth lid for ease of powder shadow application. Then, any powder shadow can be applied to the phase one base, for color that cannot crease, fade, smudge or run, even if you sweat or wear in harsh weather conditions! At the end of the day, blinc eye shadow primer is easily removed, only when you are ready, with any gentle makeup remover. It's better than waterproof!" -blinc

"In addition to superior hold, binc eye shadow primer contains anti-aging ingredients that clinical studies have shown to decrease fine lines after just six weeks by 67% and increase skin’s moisture after just one week by 53%." -blinc

They have 2 tones for the primer.  A light tone and skin tone color.  It was really hard for me to find swatches for these products so i just went with my gut and got the light tone.  I figured i couldn't go wrong with a light color.  Not a huge fan of the smell.. but of course it is a light scent.. i only smelled it because i held the wand up to my nose with the intention of describing the scent to you guys.. it reminds of a mascara scent.

It has a light creamy texture, goes on smoothly and dries pretty quickly.  One swipe of the wand should be more than enough for your lids.. then again i think i make small lids.  It really does leave a smooth surface on your eyelids for your eyeshadow to "paint" smoothly.  As for lasting power.. it lasted from 12pm to about 7pm which is when i took it off.. my shadow did not fade or crease.. great right?!  Also with the above statement by blinc..  I will be doing an experiment wearing it while i workout and if a humid/hot environment.. will put on the heater lol!  - updates later this week -

Price: $25
It is 5$ more than the urban decay primer potion in a tube as well as too faced primer.. but of course cheaper than higher end is also .13oz less than uddp.. To be honest.. I am not one that usually goes for these "primers".. i would rather use a cream shadow as a base.. its cheaper and comes in more colors.  I probably would not purchase this unless I wore make up everyday and went out every night.  25$ still is a little steep for a .14oz tube -.-.. it really is similar to urban decay.. just not as thick.  I will leave the decision up to you, whether you want to try it or not.

Eyebrow Mousse

My eyebrows are very sparse.. hair does not grow around the arch of my eyebrows.. so its basically empty there.. always has been like that.

"Once applied, blinc Eyebrow Mousse™ fills in sparse areas to create the perfect brow line that cannot fade, run, or smudge, even if you sweat or wear it in harsh weather conditions. Get ready for beautiful, face-framing brow color that lasts all day long, unlike traditional eyebrow products that disappear half way through your busy day." -blinc

Their mousse comes in 7 colors.  I was debating between light and dark brunette.. I went with light brunette to be safe.  I didn't want my eyebrows too dark.  I have to say i like this product a lot.  Since my eyebrows are very sparse i still have to use an eyebrow pencil but I don't have to fill them in as much as i normally do.  The following pictures will show you guys how it worked with my eyebrows.  I have to say.. it gives my eyebrows a very natural look.

Price: $25
This product is also $25 and is also .14oz. Even though i really like this product.. I wouldn't spend 25$ on a brow mousse.. i won't even spend that much on eyeliner or mascara.. and i love wearing those.

  • Bare eyebrows.. you can see that i have very little hair around my arch areas.

  • with mousse only.. It worked perfect in the left picture.. since i have more hair on that eyebrow.  So if your eyebrows are like that one.. then this product will probably work great for you with a few more coats.
  • You can see that in the right picture it filled in the front a bit but not the arch to the end.

  • This is where i bring in the eyebrow pencil below.. It is Wet N' Wild in taupe and is only 0.99 cents.
For Sparse Eyebrows (Right) (My regular eyebrow routine)
  • I draw in my eyebrows on the bottom first.. sketching out my arch (on the dotted line)
  • Then i do the top.. sketching out how high i want the arch (on the dotted line)
  • Then I went ahead and filled in the middle and blended out the pencil lines with 2 coats of eyebrow mousse. (Before i had the mousse i would just fill it in with a brown eyeshadow)
  • This is the after math when the mousse is dry.
Very Sparse Eyebrow (Left)
  • For my left eyebrow (the one with less hair).. I just drew in )on the dotted line.. a little more on the arch.
  • and just fill the rest in with the mousse focusing a little more on the arch and the front of my eyebrow
  • This is the after math when the mousse is dry
Incase you guys were wondering if it matched my hair color.. i think it goes perfectly fine.  I would like to try the dark brunette.. but like i said swatches for these products were a bit hard for me to find.. every where i looked the swatches were for the dark blond.

BTW the mousse stays on all day!! The swatch on my hand was hard to get off with my make up remover wipe.. i had to really scrub at it.. and it still did not come off.. i recommend using a oil-based eye make up remover to remove it.

Where can you buy them?
You can purchase these products online at or go to their locate a retailer link and check for the stores in your area.. maybe you can even test their products.

I give both products a 4/5.  Why a 4?  mainly because they are great products and work well as well as live up to their claims.. but the price is a bit high for the amount of oz(s) in the tube.  I really do love their eyebrow mousse.. depending on how long it lasts me.. will determine whether i will buy it or not.  If it lasts me a long time i will most likely purchase it.. there are raves about their eyelash primer ($19) and heated lash curler ($25).. maybe ill save to try those out.

  1. I agree, they look wonderful but idk if i would pay that much. Great review!!
