The palette is small and compact making it travel friendly.  It includes 9 shadows named after theBalms favorite Matts.  The packaging itself is made out of cardboard, flips open upward and contains a mirror inside right under the lid.  The shadows are soft and smooth as well as blendable.  These shadows are so soft that they do make a powdery mess in the palette.

Pros:
  • Travel friendly
  • Blendable
  • Good lasting power
  • Great colors
  • Color payoff
  • Can be used dry or wet
Cons:
  • Some shadows come off as chalky
  • Dusty fall out on palette

Thoughts?:
I really like this palette.  The colors are very versatile, they go nice together as well as with other shadows and finishes that are not in the palette.  It is a great everyday palette.  It's travel friendly (small and lightweight), so you don't have to worry about it not fitting or weighing down your bag.  The packaging is heavy duty so you don't have to worry about it tearing up or messing up in your bag either.  The price is also not bad for the palette.  If you don't own this palette yet, I say go get it.

theBalm also came out with another Meet Matt(e) palette in nude (Meet (Matt(e) Nude).  It also includes 9 shadows but the palette is bigger as well as the shadows making the nude palette $8 more than the original.  I would love to grab this for myself as well.. hope to in the future =).

Future post using Meet Matt(e) colors: Matt Smith, Gallagher & Schilling I also used an Urban Decay moondust Shadow on top.

What are your thoughts? Do you already own this palette?

  1. I've been curious about this palette. I have Nude Tude (or something like that) from the Balm and I really like it. Some are chalky, like you said, but overall its not bad. I love the shades in the Matte palette so I may give it a shot :)

    1. ooh! I'll be getting the Nude'tude soon! I can't wait! Maybe I can do a comparison =).. You should wait to see if the matte goes on hautelook. Last time it was on hautelook it was a few bucks cheaper =)
