This month Ipsy named their bag "Glamour Academy", assuming it's suppose to go along with a back to school theme.
♡The Bag: August
The bag itself is a royal purple with gold accents on it. The accents are logos that say ipsy with a few makeup product silhouettes and glamour academy on the bottom. It reminds me a little bit of Harry Potter lol. The fabric has a decent thickness to it and zips on the top. I am pretty neutral about the bag, neither love it or hate it. I actually gave it to my mom, I have been giving her the bags I get from ipsy that I am neutral about since she will make more use of them than I will.
In my bag was a really decent size (1 fl oz) of the Jojoba Charcoal Face Scrub, it is made to removes dead skin, impurities and toxins, but is gentle enough for us sensitive skin gals. It is currently $18 for the fullsize (3.4oz) on the Michael Todd website. I have only used this once and the scent was very calming while I was using this scrub. The exfoilating beads really did their work and removed most of my dead skin and impurities. my skin actually felt a little softer, looked brighter and felt very refreshed.
MicaBeauty was kind enough to send us ipsy subscribers a full size (2.5g) of their Mineral Eye Shadow which retails for $14.95. I received mine in the color Bronze, it is a shimmery warm copper bronze. I made swatches of this eye shadow and have not personally tried it on my eyes yet but I can only imagine the fall out, like most mineral and loose pigments.
Bottom right corner top to bottom: flash, natural light
I also received this Multi-Mineral BB Cream in my bag. Unlike asian BB creams and very much like the BB creams here in the states it is extremely sheer and gives a dewy finish. This BB cream evens out skintones and has mineral pigments that transforms to blend with your skintone. It certainly did that with mine. It also has some shimmer in it to help give the skin some radiance and a natural glow. This is perfect for girls that are looking for a tinted moisturizer and light pigmentation/acne scars but certainly not for girls like me with a lot of acne scars and needs medium to heavy coverage. I recommend using this under or mixed in with your foundation if you want to make use of the natural radiance this product gives but also prefer more coverage. (The website also states that this product can be built up for more coverage but I found that if I applied another layer it made my skin look a little darker).
A sample of the Pixi Lash Booster Mascara was also in my bag, the full size goes for $17 and can be found on their website or target. This mascara is certainly pigmented and made my lashes appear thicker but I wouldn't say it held my curl completely, those darn Asian cow looking lashes! It separated the lashes perfectly with the 1st coat but when it came to the 2nd coat (seen below) it clumped up a bit.
..and finally my favorite product in the bag! The UD Revolution Lipstick, oh em gee! It is extremely pigmented and goes on so smoothly. I received a deluxe sample of this product (which it was full size) but who can complain? The color I received is Anarchy (bright fuchsia) & it is beyond gorgeous. If you want your lips to stand out this is the color you want to wear! Their Revolution line includes 21 other colors, I am sure you'll find one you like. You can most likely find this is at your local sephora, ulta and online for $22.
From left to right- Flash, natural light (the flash is more accurate with the appearance in person)
I don't have any complaints with this month's bag! I am a happy camper. Don't forget to #leaveyourmarkUD on Instagram for a chance to win all 22 shades from UD, don't forget to follow me as well! @hiiyooitscatb
