I was given the opportunity to try out some products from Bornprettystore.com for review and this was one of the items I chose. Cool Betty's golden ratio comes in 2 shades #01 (satin gold with more of a apricot pink tint) & #02 (satin pink). Golden Ratio is a 2 in one brightener and highlighter. This product looks exactly like Etude House's Golden ratio, the only difference is CB is in a frosted glass bottle. Also, did you miss out on Benefit's moonbeam like I did? If you remember my January Wishlist I had moonbeam on there but when I was ready to purchase it, it was no where to be found! I find out that it has been discontinued ☹. Fortunately, I found this! It is very similar to moonbeam and less than half the price too! Bornprettystore also provided a coupon code for 10% for my readers! YAY! (code is placed towards the end of this post)
♡Packaging:
When you open up the lid you will see the cream highlighter and mirror. The cream highlighter is meant to be an eye brightener. I recommend using it on the lids but not underneath your eye, the product is just too shimmery and looks very weird underneath the eyes even with concealer on top.
Once you twist open the lid you will find the liquid highlighter. Unlike benefit, this product comes with a spatula instead of a brush for application. I prefer to tap a little on the back of my hand then apply the product to highlight my face with my fingers.
You can see the sparkle better with the flash in this photo. However, you won't see the pink tint until the swatches
♡Swatches:
I feel like the cream highlighter gives a cream to powder type finish when blended out. Also, when it is completely blended out, it looks quite shimmery and sheer. The liquid highlighter, however, has more of a satin finish to it and is slightly more warm toned than the cream.
You can see more of the apricot pink tint in this swatch. Don't worry though the product is sheer and gives a subtle highlight.
♡Product Applied:
Please excuse the shine on my cheeks, I use a dewy foundation.
Please excuse my crazy hair lol..
♡Pros:
- Dupe for Etude House golden ratio in gold ($14-$20) & Benefit moonbeam ($26)
- Affordable
- Beautiful on the skin
- Subtle
- Option of cream or liquid
- Suitable for most skin tones
- Suitable for all skin types
- Blends easily
- Scent (medium powdery scent from the bottle but is mild when applied to the face and fades)
- Availability (seems to be online only)
- Not travel friendly
- Cream eye brightener may be too shimmery

The promo code to save 10% at bornprettystore.com is CBH10 (the more people use it the more likely they will offer a giveaway!). It can be used on any purchase and they offer free shipping world wide. Stay tuned for my review on the same product but in its second shade #02. I am also waiting on my package of nail art products I purchased from the same website.
Let's hear it! What do you think of the product? Do you own moonbeam?
Disclosure: I received the Cool Betty Golden Ratio as a press sample.
